- Department of State Intern – Obtain a coveted inside look into Foreign Service, the positions and the responsibilities that are possible. Qualifications: U.S. citizenship. Have good academic standing. Successfully complete a background investigation. Be able to receive either a Secret or Top Secret clearance. Be a full- or part-time graduate student.
- Director of Immigration Assistance – This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of programs that assure immigrants and refugees are making a successful adjustment to life in the region, are being treated fairly, and have access to the services they need. The immigration legal services caseload for this position will be heavily focused on family based immigration needs. Professional qualifications: Law degree, or advanced degree in social work, international affairs, human rights, or a similar field. NOTE: If a law degree, admission to the bar of any state in the U.S. (or a recent law graduate who has taken the bar in July 2011) is expected. At least 3 years experience in immigrant and refugee rights preferred. Commitment to intercultural/interfaith understanding and cooperation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in English (required) and in Spanish (highly preferred).
- Legislative Analyst– Under close supervision of a staff director and committee members, the legislative analyst is responsible for researching and preparing staff analyses, reports, proposed budgets, substantive legislation, responding to inquiries, and developing correspondence. Professional Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience in research, analysis, program planning and evaluation, or administrative work. A doctorate from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience.
