Congratulations to the Moot Court Honor Board on winning another championship, the third one of the year! This is more than any other law school in the country. Tier Brown and De’Anne Jackson served as oralists/brief writers in winning the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition’s Southern Regional. This competition is hosted each year by the National Black Law Students Association. Tier and De’Anne defeated LSU in the quarter-finals, St. Thomas University (Miami) in the semi-finals and the University of Alabama in the final round. Tier and De’Anne now advance to the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition’s National Rounds in Washington, D.C. in March. In addition to the championship, a second Coastal Law team reached the quarter-finals. Vickie Eppie and Christina Gregoire both served as oralists/brief writers on this team. Both of our teams out-paced FSU, Miami, Nova, Emory, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Tulane and Tennessee, among several other law schools. Juwon Adebayo was the Team Manager for both teams. Cory Simmons (Florida Coastal ’07) served as the coach.
