The Application Process for In-House Clinics and Credit-Bearing Non-Judicial Externships for the Fall, 2012 Semester has officially begun! Applications for both clinics and externships are available on Symplicity. Both a resume and unofficial transcript must accompany your application. In some instances, a CLI application and writing sample are also necessary. Check the externship listing on Symplicity to determine if additional documents are necessary for a particular externship. All application materials should be submitted on Symplicity. Application materials for In-House Clinics may also be submitted to Cleopatra Smith in the Clinic Office, Room 255. The deadline for submitting application materials for the fall is Wednesday, April 25th. Keep in mind that there is a separate application process and deadline (April 9th) for judicial externships.
Step-by-step instructions on how to download your application materials on Symplicity can be found in the Resources tab of Symplicity under “Fall Externship Application Guidelines”. If you obtain an externship on your own outside the northeast Florida area, there is no need to submit application materials on Symplicity. Instead, you need to send information to Professor McDowell at firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain approval to earn credit.
