CSD Curriculum Reminder

If you need full access to Symplicity, be sure that you complete the CSD Curriculum! This mandatory Curriculum should have been completed by your second semester of law school, but you always have access to watch the videos and take the quizzes on Desire2Learn. This Curriculum will provide you with an overview of our services and resources, guide you on application materials and job search strategies, show you important details such as how to dress for an interview and much more. Once you have completed the Curriculum with a grade of 7.5 or above on each section, you will be provided with full access to Symplicity.

All First Semester 1Ls who complete the Curriculum by the deadline will automatically be entered into a drawing to receive 1 of 2 professional leather portfolios! The deadline for First Semester 1Ls to complete the Curriculum is Friday, September 20, 2013.

All other students who still need to complete your Curriculum can log onto Desire2Learn to do so and send an e-mail to Tara Block at tblock@fcsl.edu once you have completed it. We only automatically check grades for First Semester 1Ls weekly, so it’s important that you e-mail us if you are in another class and have completed your Curriculum.

In-House & Corporate Counsel Panel!

Are you interested in learning about in-house and corporate law? Then don’t miss the In-House and Corporate Law Panel on Tuesday, April 9th at 12pm – 1:15pm in Room 550. Our panelists will discuss the structure of their legal departments, the variety of roles that in-house counsel play within a corporation, and their individual career paths that led them to their in-house positions. They will share invaluable advice for anyone interested in working in-house, including insight on the market for recent graduates. The panel will be moderated by Professor Katharine Hartland.

Urban Land Institute Lunch n’ Learn!

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) will be hosting a Lunch n’ Learn on Thursday, April 11^th at 12pm in Room 365. The ULI is a nonprofit education and research institute supported by its members. Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. This Lunch n’ Learn will provide an overview of the ULI and information about the benefits of ULI membership. Federal Hiring Tips & Tricks

Southeastern Minority Job Fair

The Southeastern Minority Job Fair (SEMJF) is a minority job fair that provides second and third year students, as well as graduates, with an opportunity to interview for internships and jobs with legal employers across the country. Registration for SEMJF will begin on April 3, 2013 and will end on April 19, 2013. Registration is FREE! Students will be able to register in the Atrium during Coffee Wednesdays, on Symplicity at https://law-fcsl-csm.symplicity.com/surveys/SEMJF_Registration, or by email. Students: CPE credits are now only updated in Symplicity and are no longer located on the degree audit. You can find your credits by logging onto Symplicity, clicking ‘Profile’ and scrolling down to ’Legal Work Experience’.

Career Services is not responsible for the tracking of CPE credits. If you have a dispute about your CPE credits, please contact the Registrar’s Office.
