The applications for Spring 2015 Externships with Judges & Courts as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Offices, Corporate Placements and Florida Coastal Clinics are now OPEN under the “Jobs” tab in Symplicity! Each listing includes the requirements and required application material. (Please note that the application requirements and pre-requisites are set by the supervising attorney or clinical supervisor). The deadline to apply to Phase 1 placements is Thursday, September 18th.
Phase 2 applications (Public Interest, Government Entities, State Attorney’s Offices, and Public Defender’s Offices) will open on Symplicity on Monday, September 22nd.
Remember, you can only view job postings and OCI opportunities that are open to your class year, so make sure to update your Symplicity profile to reflect your correct class year.

1) We changed our name! Career Services will now be known as the Center for Professional Development or CPD.
2) We have two new team members! C.J. Gomes is a new Career Counselor and Ron Talone is our new Administrative Assistant. Stop in the CPD to say hello!
3) Walk-in Wednesday! If you have a quick question or want a counselor to glance at your resume or cover letter, feel free to stop into the CPD on Wednesdays between 10 am – 4 pm. No appointment needed on Wednesday only!

The 2015 Equal Justice Works Fellowship application will be open from July 7, 2014 to September 17, 2014.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 2 pm.
The Equal Justice Works Fellowship Program is very competitive, receiving hundreds of applications each year for approximately 60 fellowship slots. To be considered, you must be a qualified and passionate lawyer who has developed a new and innovative legal project that can impact lives and serve communities in desperate need of legal assistance. We will cover how to prepare and complete a successful application. This presentation is intended for law students and recent graduates interested in pursuing a public interest legal career as well as law school professionals who advise students on fellowship and other public interest career opportunities.

Depending on funding, EJW provides between 45-55 two-year fellowships annually. Fellows receive a competitive salary, generous loan repayment assistance, connections to their prominent sponsors and leaders of the private and public interest bars, participation in trainings, and additional support during their two-year tenure.
The Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair (SIPJF) is an initiative founded by the Intellectual Property Advisory Board, which is an alumni group associated with the Georgia State University College of Law. The fair is managed and executed by the Georgia State University College of Law Career Services Office. Many members of the Founders group are very active in Atlanta’s IP community, working in the city’s most well known companies and firms. SIPJF has been made possible by a joint effort of student volunteers, alumni, and the Georgia State University College of Law Career Services Office.
SIPJF mainly targets fulfilling summer associate positions for 2015. Consequently, participation is open to full-time and part-time students (from registered schools) who are classified as rising 2L or rising 3L students, who will return for classes for the Fall 2014 semester.

Registration for SEMJF will begin on April 2, 2014 and will end on April 18, 2014. Students can register on Symplicity at https://law-fcsl-csm.symplicity.com/surveys/SEMJF_Registration14.
Registration is FREE! On May 15th, students will be able to view the list of employers participating and will be able to apply for opportunities on SEMJF Symplicity. Only students selected to interview with employers or as an alternate are allowed to attend the job fair.
