DUTIES: The anticipated work of the selected extern is to be involved in operational aspects of the organization. Students will assist with regulatory and compliance matters, review and analyze contracts, draft memorandums, assist with warehouse logistics, transportation, and operational management. Issues may include food safety and the recall process.

Spring credit-bearing Externship opportunities with corporations, public interest employers and government entities are now available for a limited time! A few examples of unique Spring externship opportunities available for 2Ls and 3Ls with a low number of applicants thus far include:

The application process for Externships and Clinics is changing! Beginning with Spring 2014 positions, externships and clinics will be sorted into two phases. Phase 1 will include Judges & Courts, Florida Coastal Clinics and the U.S. Attorney’s Offices. Phase 2 will include Corporations, Public Interest Employers and Government Entities. Specific information is below.
How to apply
Each clinic and externship opportunity is posted with an individual description on Symplicity (https://law-fcsl-csm.symplicity.com/students). Each listing will include the requirements and required application material. (Please note that the application requirements and pre-requisites are set by the supervising attorney or clinical supervisor). You can obtain a copy of each of the Phase I externship descriptions in the CSD office or on the Symplicity Document Library. You need to have a resume uploaded on Symplicity in order to view the postings. You will only be able to view the posting that are open to your class year, so make sure to update your Symplicity profile to reflect your correct class year.
Stop by the CSD to pick up a copy of the Symplicity Training Manual. The manual includes detailed instructions on how to log into Symplicity, upload documents and find postings.
