  • Students can register during Coffee Wednesday or on Symplicity.
  • Students can begin applying for jobs and submitting application materials on SEMJF Symplicity on May 16, 2013. Only students that are invited to interview with an employer or as an alternate are permitted to attend the job fair.

A FOUNDATIONAL PROGRAM FOR LAW STUDENTS

The primary goal of the program is to provide law students with a foundational guide for success in their preparation to enter the legal field. The program will include resume’ and writing sample editing and advice on the proper dress for various professional settings. There will be a special presentation by Judge Carole Y. Taylor of the Fourth District Court of Appeal on “Judicial Clerkships in a Nutshell.” Daryl Manning will provide information on behalf of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners regarding the application process.

Caribbean Bar Association Scholarship Application

CBA announces its annual scholarship. The scholarship will provide a 6-week Judicial Internship in South Florida and a stipend in the amount of $2,000.00. Applications are   Caribbean Bar Association Logoavailable in Career Services. The deadline to apply is March 29, 2013. As a part of the application process students must complete a 1,000 words or less essay.

DRI Announces 2013 Law Student Diversity Scholarship

About the Scholarship: The goal of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance to two worthy law students from ABA accredited law schools in order to promote, in a tangible way, the DRI Diversity Statement in Principle.  

Qualifications: To qualify for this scholarship, candidate must be a full-time student. Evening students also qualify for consideration who have completed one-third or more of the total credit hours required for a degree by the applicant’s law school. The scholarship is open to incoming second and third-year African American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American students.  Incoming second and third-year female law students are also eligible, regardless of race or ethnicity. Incoming second and third-year law students who also come from backgrounds that would add to the cause of diversity, regardless of race or gender are eligible to apply.

Paul Marchand Internship

Arc

The Arc is pleased to begin accepting applications for the Paul Marchand Internship in Disability Public Policy.  The interns in this program will have the opportunity to learn about how federal public policy and regulation impacts the daily lives of people with disabilities and their ability to be as independent as possible. 

Applications for the summer session will be accepted until March 8, 2013. To help offset the costs of working in Washington, DC, the internship fund will provide a $3,000 stipend to interns interested in pursuing a career in disability public policy. 

The fund was created to honor Paul Marchand’s distinguished leadership in the disability community and to encourage a new generation of leaders. 

Application Process

Applicants should send a resume, cover letter, and reference list of contacts including employers, professors, and mentors.  The cover letter should be no more than 2 pages and address why the applicant wants this internship, the knowledge and skills he/she brings to the organization, and where the applicant wants to intern.  If the applicant desires to intern with another host organization, the application should also include a letter from the host organization stating willingness to engage the intern and contribute one-third of the internship to the fund.

March 8th for the summer term  or  May 15th for th fall
