The United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Florida, is seeking experienced attorneys to serve as Assistant United States Attorneys in one of the largest USAOs in the nation. The office is currently seeking applicants for the Criminal and Civil Divisions. One or more positions may be filled from this vacancy announcement in all office locations: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Fort Pierce. Applicants must indicate location(s) and division(s) to which they are applying.
Divisions include: Appellate, Asset Forfeiture, Civil and Criminal. The Criminal Division is further divided into Sections: Major Crimes, Economic and Environmental Crimes, Public Integrity and National Security, Narcotics and Special Prosecutions.
Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any jurisdiction), and have at least 1 year post-J.D. experience.
Preferred applicants will possess superior oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills; and the capacity to function in a highly demanding environment with minimal guidance. Additionally, it is desired that the successful candidate have strong academic credentials and at least three years of post J.D. experience.
Assistant United States Attorneys’ pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number years of professional attorney experience and availability of funds. The current recruiting range is $44,581 through $131,534 plus locality rate.
