This course examines the problems in the provision of health care, impact of managed care and some leading proposals for reform, including the methodology of achieving reform. Topics include health care need, cost, quality control, Medicare, Medicaid, mental health, access, business roles, contracts and claims.
INTERNATIONAL HEALTH AND HUMAN RIGHTS OF CHILDREN SEMINAR
This course focuses on the sources of public international law and the law of treaties as it relates to international human rights law. More specifically, the course will survey the application of the Convention on the Rights of a Child and its potential impact on state and local policy.
LAW AND MEDICINE
This course reviews the organization and regulation of medical practice, medical malpractice, in-formed consent, the institutions of the delivery of medical services, licensing and regulation of physicians and other health care providers, and death and dying.
