How to help Haiti: Volunteer, donation opportunities available

As many of us are saddened by watching the reports from Haiti,  the school encourages the entire Florida Coastal Community to give consideration to providing assistance in some way to those impacted by this horrible situation.  We have been in communication with the Red Cross and Mission Harvest of America here in Jacksonville.  We have learned that Mission Harvest is coordinating the local effort to provide relief.

Mission Harvest has informed the school they specifically need canned goods, juice, non perishables, clothes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, towels, sheets, blankets, sleeping bags, flash lights and batteries.  Monetary assistance is also needed. They also emphasized an immediate need for volunteers to help packs the goods for shipping. Volunteers are to report to Mission Harvest of America, 69 Copeland Street, (downtown off Beaver Street) Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday’s from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Sunday’s from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
