On Thursday April 25, Associate Dean of Student Affairs Tom Taggart and Chair of the Student Bar Association Tournament Committee Chantel Simon awarded certificates to the top two teams in the pilot Simulawyer Charity Tournament.

SimuLawyer is an interactive game that recreates a day in a law firm. Students compete in "Firms" of five students in a simulated contracts lesson. Teams can choose between Contracts I and Contracts II as well as questions of varying difficulty. Every player starts out as an associate in their Firm, but can earn their way to the top. It was developed at Coastal Law.
The winning team, titled Coastal Warriors, was awarded the Infilaw “Helping Hand” Grant of $500 to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project in addition to the $200 raised during the tournament. Team members included Kristen Courtney, Betsy Dobbins, Alice Morris, and Kristen Nyquist. The second place team, titled Carr & Shaw, competed on behalf of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and included Nikita Carr and Shakuwra Shaw.
