Policies
The library is open to Florida Coastal students, alumni, staff, and faculty. Phone calls must be taken to the hallway or a study room to ensure a quiet study space and privacy.
Food and covered drinks are allowed throughout the library. The use of tobacco products or vaping is prohibited.
Lost items turned in to the staff will be held at the SYNC (Circulation) Desk for no longer than one month.
Please report any building, furniture, equipment or other maintenance problems to the staff immediately.
Bulletin boards by the third floor carrels may be used for student organization and other general postings in accordance with Florida Coastal guidelines. No postings are permitted in other areas of the library.
Library users who violate any of these policies may be subject to disciplinary action, including being referred to the Honor Court, loss of library privileges, and/or criminal prosecution.
Materials
A Florida Coastal I.D. is required for checkout, and the card holder is responsible for all materials checked out on his/her card. Materials not found in the library collection can often be borrowed from other libraries via interlibrary loans.
Unreturned or lost materials will be billed for replacement cost, plus a processing fee of $20 and billing fee of $5 per item. Fines are paid to the Finance Office. Unpaid fines may result in grades being held or registration being denied. If you receive an overdue notice and believe you have returned the item(s), please contact the SYNC (Circulation) Desk.
During midterms, reading period, and final exams, only three study aids are available to check out at a time. A waiting period of thirty minutes is required before renewing materials.
Privacy Policy
The library supports the right to privacy of our users. The library staff is unable to disclose the location of any user. The library staff will not disclose material that a person has borrowed, nor will the staff disclose the person who has borrowed certain materials.
