Coastal Law wins National Sports Law Moot Court Competition


Coastal Law congratulates its sports law moot court team, including members Lauren Plaisted, Drew Parrish Bennett, Dazi Lenoir Williams and manager Diana Mederos, on its recent victory at the Tulane Mardi Gras Sports Law Competition.

In addition to winning the team national championship, oralist Drew Parrish Bennett received Best Advocate, Second Award for the preliminary rounds and the Best Advocate Award for the championship round. Professor Sander Moody coached the team.

Professor Foley, along with Professor Chris Roederer, coached Coastal's team in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, South Super-Regionals, at the University of Houston Law Center, Feb 10-13.  Going into the elimination rounds, Coastal's team was ranked #2 out of the 21 teams, but unfortunately the team was eliminated in the quarter finals.  Coastal's two oral advocates, Jeff Brown and Michael Flores, were ranked 7th and 8th respectively, out of all of the oralists.
